Becoming a qualified saddle fitter is an important professional achievement. IASF Practitioner Membership provides the next step — giving qualified saddle fitters professional recognition, a place within a global network and a visible presence within the saddle fitting profession.

Open to qualified saddle fitting practitioners, regardless of where they completed their training, IASF membership provides a professional framework for continued development, ethical practice and accountability.

What does IASF Practitioner Membership give you?

Professional Recognition

Join a global professional network of qualified saddle fitters and demonstrate your commitment to professional standards, equine welfare and continued development.

Membership confirms that you have met the IASF requirements for practitioner registration and have agreed to work in accordance with our professional standards and Code of Conduct.

A Global Professional Directory Listing

Your professional profile can be listed on the IASF Global Directory, helping horse owners and other equine professionals find and identify qualified saddle fitting practitioners.

Your listing provides a visible point of professional reference and allows clients to verify your IASF registration status.

Use of IASF Professional Branding

As a practitioner in good standing, you are entitled to use the approved IASF membership logo and professional designation in accordance with our Brand & Membership Usage Policy.

This provides a clear way to demonstrate your professional registration across your website, social media and other professional materials.

IASF branding and membership credentials are intended to represent professional standards and welfare-led practice.

Professional Standards & Accountability

Membership means committing to a defined professional standard of conduct.

Our Code of Conduct sets expectations around equine welfare, professional integrity, client communication, confidentiality, professional boundaries and responsible commercial practice.

Members are expected to maintain these standards as a condition of their registration.

Where concerns are raised about professional conduct, IASF has a formal process for investigation and appropriate action.

Continuing Professional Development

Saddle fitting is an evolving profession. Maintaining and developing your knowledge is an essential part of professional practice.

IASF members are required to undertake and record ongoing CPD, helping ensure that their knowledge and skills continue to develop alongside advances in saddle fitting, equine health, biomechanics and related fields.

Our current CPD requirement is 36 hours per year, including a minimum of 6 hours of IASF saddle-fitting-specific CPD.

CPD may include formal training, manufacturer education, anatomy and biomechanics, gait analysis, research, relevant educational resources and professional shadowing.

Be Part of a Connected Profession

Saddle fitting is a specialist profession, but it does not exist in isolation.

IASF brings qualified saddle fitters together to encourage professional collaboration, knowledge sharing and continued development across the industry and internationally.

Our aim is to support a more connected, recognised and professionally accountable saddle fitting profession.
