CPD Policy

IASF CPD Policy

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is an essential component for all IASF listed saddlery fitters. The purpose of CPD is to constantly develop and further your skills and to ensure your knowledge base is up to date in this rapidly evolving industry.

This policy is reviewed and reissued annually and is subject to change based on the requirements set out by the IASF board.

IASF strive for excellence and as a representative of this body each listed member is required to undertake a minimum amount of CPD annually.

The current annual prescribed CPD requirement is as follows:

Training Provider                  Subject                             CPD Hours

IASF                                     Saddle Fitting Specific     6

Open                                    Saddle Fitting Related     30

Total                                                                              36

The total amount of CPD undertaken should be equal to (or greater than) 36 hours per annum which must include 6 hours IASF saddle specific CPD.

The CPD hours can be split over the year and should cover a range of topics such as:

  • Saddle tree types (manufacturer visits)

  • Anatomy and Physiology

  • Gait Analysis

  • Palpation Techniques

  • Reading research papers

  • Watching relevant educational videos

  • Pathology

  • Shadowing other saddle fitters

All CPD undertaken must be recorded and submitted to IASF using the attached form.

CPD records should be emailed to admin@saddle-academy.com within 12 months of applying for a directory listing. IASF students are responsible for submitting their CPD records in a timely fashion and failure to do so may invalidate their certification and/or insurance.

Practitioner membership is open to all qualified saddle fitters as recognised by the Equine Fitters Council. Evidence of certification is required to approve any practitioner application. Trade partner membership is open to all saddlery manufacturers who meet our professional standards.

a. Membership Tiers: IASF offers various membership options, the details of which are outlined on our official website. We reserve the right to modify membership tiers, benefits, and pricing at any time. Any changes to pricing will be communicated to you with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

b. Payment: Membership fees are payable in accordance with the billing cycle you select (e.g., monthly, annually). All payments are processed through a secure third-party payment provider. You agree to provide valid and current payment information and authorise us to charge the applicable fees to your designated payment method.

c. Auto-renewal: Your membership will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel it in accordance with these Terms. You will receive a reminder notification before each renewal date.

3. Cancellation and Refunds

b. No Refunds: All membership fees are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for any partial membership periods or for unused services.

Non-attendance does not negate this requirement.

d. Change to Non-Member Status: If you cancel your membership and do not attend the ticketed event, IASF reserves the right to charge the difference between the member and non-member ticket price.

e. Event Cancellation: In the unlikely event that IASF cancels or reschedules a ticketed event, you will be offered a full refund of the ticket price or the option to transfer your ticket to the rescheduled event.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree that any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
